Behind The Scenes

Many high-school football games are recorded/streamed for watching on youtube and other places. The cameras are usually very high up, for example, at the top of the stadium (as you can see in some of the photos below.) What I wanted to do was to compare the view from the “on-high” booth to the view as seen by me, the photographer on the ground. The right-most photo on each set below is the actual photo that I took. The other pictures to the left were captured from the video of the game and show the play leading up to the photograph. In most of the pictures below, you can see myself in the capture (with a yellow arrow pointing at me). Click on each picture to enlarge it to see the whole scene.

#1 - In the video on the left, the QB has thrown the football to the receiver in the end zone. I’m the guy in the white shirt and dark shorts right above the receiver’s head (where the yellow arrow is pointing). The photo that was taken at that time is shown on the right.

#2 - The first video clip is a wide-shot of the field. The QB (hidden on the left) throws a pass to the receiver in the end zone (hidden on the right). The second video clip is taken after the touchdown. The photo on the far right shows the receiver making the catch.
